Each session brings together up to 25 women (age 21+) at all stages in life and work. This is an opportunity to take a moment for yourself, share ideas, experiences and laughs with other like-minded women, and live like a grad student at the beautiful Cranbrook Academy of Art this summer. 

What you can expect 

All-inclusive 4 nights/5 days includes everything from food to accommodations. Sharing meals together is a big part of the Eye Opener experience, so you can expect fresh, delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Attendees will each have private dorm room with internet access, fresh linens, towels, sink, group restroom and showers.  (Talk about Kingswood here?)

PROGRAMMING

Each session runs three unique workshops, from DIY screen printing and storytelling, to typography+AI and vibe coding. All sessions include group "loose talk" and "passion project" sessions, as well as optional activities such a silent walk through the gardens, swimming in the natatorium, morning yoga, an art tour of downtown Detroit, a tour of the Cranbrook Art Museum and other events.

Alumnae: Total fee $1,500
($440 deposit required)

Public: Total fee $2,200  
($660 deposit required)

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of total fee is required to secure space. 
Final fee is due 60 days before the event.  If you register less than 60 days prior to the event, we require full payment.  

SUMMER SESSIONS:

SESSION 1: Thursday, June 11 - Monday, June 15
SESSION 2: Thursday, June 16 - Monday, June 22
SESSION 3: Thursday, June 25 - Monday, June 29

As part of registration, you will be invited to send a short note introducing yourself so we can tailor the program to best suite the group. You will also asked about your dietary needs, mobility issues, and any other concerns. 

You will also be invited to submit a proposal for "passion projects" where several attendees present their current design-related obsession, and get feedback and support from the group. A great way to make connections as a community is to share successes, failures and work-in-progress! 

Transportation:  we will do our best to coordinate ridesharinging and car rental through a google sheet for transportation from Detroit Airport to Cranbrook and back: however, we will not provide van service.
